Best Buy is working hard to change the face of retail. From efforts like Best Buy Remix, offering API access to their entire product catalog, to their latest project, Best Buy IdeaX, Best Buy is looking to work with their customers to change the overall retail experience. When Best Buy needed to build their latest site, they turned to Heroku to handle their deployment. Heroku has allowed the development team to focus on customer value features, and leave the entire deployment, operations and scale of IdeaX to Heroku.

IdeaX is a vibrant and active online community where thousands of ideas are discussed, reviewed and implemented. IdeaX helps Best Buy “co-create” product offers, services and a better experience with their customers.

Immediate Results

In just a few short months, Best Buy has already started working on implementing many top ideas, including easier packaging, electronic receipts, and improvements to the Reward Zone. Hundreds of comments later, users are more engaged, and working hard on coming up with ideas for the future of Best Buy.

The Best Buy team partnered with Bust Out Solutions and Heroku to develop IdeaX Heroku has allowed the development team to focus on customer value features, and leave the entire deployment, operations and scale of IdeaX to Heroku. As Best Buy ramps up for a major campaign to drive traffic to IdeaX, they’re comfortable knowing that the site will be able to handle the traffic spikes worry-free.
